FOUNDATORS OF THE PROJECT
Mondulkiri Local Project is ran by Mr. Vanleang , who is a local tribe guy with Mr Winh , Nara , Phallit , Hong , Meng , Lonh , Tath , Tith , Tik , Soum, Pukto....., who are tribe (Punong) people at Putang village. We organize tours to support the Putang Village, a Punong community living at 10km from Sen Monorom town.
Why this project ?
- working for the community
One of the many differences between our program
and that of other tour services is that we are on site,
meaning we are continuously working with the Punong people, understanding their needs and trying to find solutions to help them become more resilient, regarding globalization and foreign companies looking to exploit
their community and lands.
- understanding the real needs of the community
The money that we gather from our tours is directly distributed to the needs of the community, by helping
the local people generate their own income and business,
for example the homestay at our Putang Village, their
hand-crafted shop and the trekking in the jungle with
the local guide helps each guide support his family.
We want to develop sustainable jobs and preserve the elephants.
- not to westernize the community
It is important to us not to try to westernize the Punong community but to help keep the traditions and culture alive, and make them proud to share these traditions , knowledge and way of living with tourists.
We are so sorry to all tourists but this is what happening
in our community that why we would like to forced
our mind to show you guys to understand What is it?
Where are they from?
