Mondulkiri is a northeastern province of Cambodia which is located 382 km away from Phnom Penh. It borders Ratanakiri and Stung Treng province to the north, Kratie province to the west, and Vietnam to the south and the east. The total area of Mondulkiri is about 14,288 square kilometers, and has four districts including : 1) Kaev Seima 2) O Reang 3) Pichreada 4) Koh Nhek; 17 communes, 90 villages, and one city named Senmonorom as a center of Mondulkiri province. According to the provincial census (2008), the population is 61,107, with 80 percent being indigenous people. Viewed from any angle, the emerald grassy knolls appear like a neatly clipped golf course while the swaying grass looks like sea waves. Many people have compared the province's green landscapes and weather with the scenery of New Zeland or Australia.
